Cedar Hill walkout basement: build update
Here we are in Cedar Hill. It’s been a while since I’ve given an update about this house, but this is the one with the basement I was talking about a few weeks ago. I believe back in August you saw the pre-insulation videos. Well, we’re well past insulation now, well past drywall. As a matter of fact, there’s doors and trim on the inside.
But speaking to the basement, you can see from the front it does not look like there’s a bottom level to the house. From the front, it just looks like you’ve got a two-story house, but we know that’s not the case, because there’s a walkout basement. So we’re just going to walk over to the side.
We’ve got all this grade going on. You can see this lot was quite drastic. It was just a continual slope, and right behind where that front door is, there was just a sudden drop-off. So I actually elevated that up. I did some walls on the outside to hold that. But we’re going to walk over here and take a look at what’s going on. This reddish area is my propane tank, and you can see I have the connection for some HVAC, the propane tank and everything on that side. And right now we’re just working on the grade.
Well, look, there’s my walkout basement. Beautiful. Just beautiful. Some touch-up painting needs to be done. You can see right now they’re working on some tile. We’ve got the wood ceiling on the deck. Shout out to my boys at Home Depot for the awesome deal I got there.
And then of course, big shout out to Rigo Garza on the brickwork. Absolutely stunning on the herringbone, the soldiers all the way across. He did a fantastic job, phenomenal job. And Vanessa Munoz and her team, doing a spectacular job on the tile work on the deck. Everybody is just firing on all cylinders, and I can’t wait to show you this finished project in just a few weeks. All right, I’m going to have a family in here before Thanksgiving.
